“Our seed potato yield that was harvested was much more than our planned targets; it was 36.2 tons per one hectare. Following the results of the season, the gross yield of seed potato varieties that were harvested exceeded 15.6 thousand tons; therefore, we needed additional storage facilities for those. We plan to increase further the yield of seed potatoes and, accordingly, we need to build up our warehouse facilities. The growing of seed potatoes is a strategic field of operations to the Continental Farmers Group: we have permanent partners for whom we grow potatoes and we have already entered into new agreements on their sale,” Orest Kravchuk, Continental Farmers Group’s Chief Agronomist of the Potatoes Cluster, notes.
The harvested potatoes yield was put into crates at the new warehouse. To keep the quality of the seed potatoes until spring, a modern ventilation temperature and humidity control system manufactured by Tolsma Technik was installed in the potatoes storage warehouse.
Information: The Continental Farmers Group Company is a leader in the Ukrainian potatoes market. It grows chips, seeds and food potato varieties. This season, a total of 1.8 thousand hectares of land area was used to grow potatoes. To store the crop yield, the Company uses modern warehouses in the Ternopil and Lviv Oblasts, the warehouse facilities having the capacity of 106.2 thousand tons. The Continental Farmers Group continues increasing the capacity of its facilities. This year, the Company built and launched one of the most modern potato storage facilities in Ukraine with a total capacity of over 16 thousand tons.
