Continental to launch harvest campaign
The 1st wave of harvests has started at the Continental Farmers Group. The Company has begun threshing winter barley, for which 11.4 thousand hectares have been allocated. Then winter rape and wheat will be harvested. The planned area for these crops is 34.6 thousand hectares and 40.1 thousand hectares, respectively. In total, during the summer harvest, the Company is planning to harvest from a total area of 86.2 thousand hectares.
Continental Prepares Storage Facilities for Harvest Season
Continental Farmers Group is preparing storage and processing facilities for the new harvest. This season the Company is planning to carry out harvest storage on 5 elevators and 3 drying and grain complexes with a total capacity of over 500 thousand tons. 90% of the elevator capacity is ready for the harvest.
Continental Launches Retraining Program for Internally Displaced Persons
Continental Farmers Group is implementing a Continental Restart retraining program for internally displaced persons. The educational project aims to create new employment and career opportunities for professionals who have lost their jobs due to the situation in the country and have been forced to leave their regions of residence. The Continental Project will provide an opportunity to apply and expand engineering and technical qualifications, gain practical skills in agricultural engineering, as well as employment in agriculture.
Continental Completed Spring Sowing
Spring Sowing Campaign has ended at Continental Farmers Group. The Company planted almost 100,000 hectares of spring cereals, oilseeds and industrial crops. This year, the Company`s crop structure traditionally includes soybeans, sunflowers and corn. Given the situation in the country, some changes were made to the sowing structure in the spring; as a result – buckwheat and sugar beet, as strategically important food crops, were added.
The Continental Farmers Group completed the planting of potatoes
The potato planting campaign is completed at the Continental Farmers Group. The Company met the planned deadline and planted potatoes in over 2.2 thousand hectares. The land area under potatoe has been increased because of the importance of the crop to the food security of Ukraine. Traditionally, the Continental Farmers Group has been growing potatoes in the Lviv and Ternopil regions. The Company considers this year’s potato planting campaign as favorable. The weather conditions that prevailed during the campaign were ideal for the laying of the tubers and obtaining the future harvest.
Continental Has Started the Sowing Campaign — 2022
Continental Farmers Group has launched a spring sowing campaign — 2022. The structure of this year's sowing has changed under the influence of events taking place in Ukraine. In addition to the Company's traditional crops — sunflower, corn and soybeans, Continental added buckwheat to the crop structure, for which 1.2 thousand hectares are planned, and allocated 1 thousand hectares for sugar beet. In total, the Company plans to sow about 100 thousand hectares in the spring.
The Continental Farmers Group launches the production season
The Continental Farmers Group launches the 2022 fieldwork season. The Company feeds its winter crops using nitrogen fertilizers — by now, 20% of the crops has been processed. As a reminder, it is worth noting that the largest share in the winter crops structure of the Continental Farmers Group belongs to the wheat — it was planted on 40.1 thousand hectares of land. Continental used 35.3 thousand hectares to plant winter rape and 11.4 thousand hectares was used for winter barley. Overall, the Continental Farmers Group sowed winter crops for the 2022 harvest on a total of 87 thousand hectares of land.

Continental Farmers Group reported on the taxes paid in 2021 and the implemented social projects. The amount of tax payments to all-level budgets exceeded UAH 1 181 million, which is UAH 257.8 million more than the Company paid in 2020. Aside from that, the Continental Farmers Group allocated UAH 34.8 million last year for the implementation of social projects at the territory of five regions in the Western Ukraine.
In 2022, the Continental Farmers Group will grow a new potato variety that fits for French fries’ production
The Continental Farmers Group continues expanding its potato business. In 2022, the Company starts growing the Fontane potato variety that is new for Continental and fits to produce French fries. The Continental Farmers Group started cultivating this variety last year to obtain the first seeds reproduction that will be used in the 2022 season. This year, the Fontane potato will be grown at 228 hectares of land.
